In my understanding the Teacher profession we have an assignment that requires us to research and find more information about school districts within Texas. Though this is an assignment, I am using it as a way to figure out where in Texas I want to teach. I know that most education college graduates tend to stay in Central Texas, but I'm hoping to teach in the Houston area. I've heard plenty of stories of how difficult and challenging it is to teach in the inner city, but I feel that it is my "calling" to educate and become a role model to the children that might not have role models at home or community. I've had the opportunity to work at a inner city school and I've witnessed the difference I saw in a child's behavior and self-esteem when they had an adult that actually took interest in what their interests are and how they feel. Once I am a teacher, I hope that I form a close relationship with my students and incorporate their interest in my teaching!! Thats all for now!
